So Monday is here again and so is summer and its humidity here in Maine! Definitely starting to feel like July with more seasonal temperatures and weather. I’m thankful I don’t have to work outside or travel in this heat–also thankful my husband works in a metal fabrication shop and not outside.
Here are today’s devotional thoughts – have a nice day! 🙂
“Experiencing trials, while you’re waiting to receive something God has promised you, can be very difficult. But when you understand how important it is to wait, it makes it worthwhile.
When you have trials, you grow–or at least you can grow if you learn to develop patience.
Patience is a fruit of the Spirit…and a powerful witness to others. So when you’re experiencing a difficult trial, exercise patience.
It is like a muscle–the more you use it, the stronger it gets.”
–Joyce Meyer in “Ending Your Day Right”
“Some people are afraid to believe. They think they may be setting themselves up for disappointment. They have not realized they will be perpetually disappointed if they don’t believe.
I feel that if I believe for a lot and even get half of it, I am better off than I would be to believe for nothing and get all of it. I am challenging you to start believing good things. Believe you can do whatever you need to do in life through Christ.
Don’t have a ‘give up easy’ attitude. Let your faith soar. Be creative with your thoughts. Take an inventory.
What have you been believing lately? An honest answer may help you understand why you have not been receiving what you have wanted to receive.”
–Joyce Meyer in “New Day New You”
-1- I’ve always thought it’s ironic that it requires challenges and trials to produce patience. We can’t develop patience without trials. There’s no “I want patience and I want it RIGHT NOW!!” Not going to happen that way!
-2- This is a thought-provoking concept: “I feel that if I believe for a lot and even get half of it, I am better off than I would be to believe for nothing and get all of it.” Yes, time to ramp up the beliefs and dreams!
So what are YOUR thoughts?
-1- Have you ever thought about the fact you can’t develop patience without some kind of opposition?
-2- Do you agree it would be better to believe for a lot and get some of it, than believe for nothing and get nothing?
