Fellowship with People – NOT with Your Faults!

Fellowship with People – NOT with Your Faults!

Don’t Fellowship

with Your Faults!

Enjoying the company of loved ones is fine, but…we shouldn’t fellowship with our faults! Some people are often quite happy to point out our faults to us…but we more often tend to be our own worst critics!

Here is your midweek inspiration…

“Meditating on all of our faults and failures weakens us, but meditating on God’s grace and willingness to forgive strengthens us. Our relationship and fellowship are to be with God, not with our sins.

How much do you fellowship with your sins, failures, mistakes, and weaknesses? Whatever amount of time it is, it is wasted.

When you sin, admit it, ask for forgiveness, and then continue your fellowship with God. Don’t let your sins come between you and the Lord.”

–Joyce Meyer in “New Day New You”

My Reflections

My favorite theme in this devotional is that we aren’t supposed to fellowship with our faults! It reminds me of the “misery loves company” saying. Just as we should forgive others, we should also forgive ourselves.

So What Are YOUR Thoughts?

Have you ever heard of the idea that you shouldn’t fellowship with your faults?

Can you think of a time when you might have a tendency to do this?

  1. Thank you for the reminder. I am very good at fellowshipping with my faults. They don’t really deserve that much attention.
