Fear and Rejection – February 2 Inspiration
Fear and rejection. Two powerful negative entities or events. It’s amazing how much fear alone can impact and interfere with living a happy, successful life. Combine fear with rejection, and you have a lethal combination that can stunt growth in many areas of life…and even cause people to reject themselves and never fulfill their potential or purpose in life.
Here is your inspiration for today…
“Fear can actually make you sick to your stomach.
It can make you so tense and nervous
that everyone around you
notices something is wrong…
What’s more, just as confidence is contagious,
so is lack of self-confidence.
When we possess no inner confidence,
no one else has confidence in us either.
When we think people are rejecting us,
we feel hurt by them.
But for fearful, under-confident people,
the root of the problem
is that they are rejecting themselves.
They are rejecting the person
God intended them to be.”
–Joyce Meyer in “The Confident Women Devotional”

My reflections:
I’ve experienced fear and rejection at times in my life. I know I certainly suffer from lack of self-confidence in some areas of my life. I know I need to rely on God to overcome these weaknesses, to allow Him to instill confidence; or better yet, to have confidence that He will complete what He has planned for me as long as remain committed to Him.

So what are YOUR thoughts?
Do you suffer from fear, rejection, or both? Does self-confidence come naturally to you or do you also struggle with confidence?

Yes and yes. Fear is such a horrible feeling. I am working on being more mindful in my life and trying to see the good in all things.

Fear is what keeps us from going after what we want. Once we get rid of fear, we start to live life the way we want to live it. It’s such a beautiful thing, to overcome fear.
I have often been afflicted with fear, especially growing up and yes, it can have a negative impact for a long time.

As Frank Herbert said, “I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer.” Too bad it’s so easy to let our fears take over our lives.

I live with fear every single day. Fear of not being good enough. I fear change the most and don’t know where to go with that.fear holds me still in my life. I wanna wake up and be fearless but don’t know how.
Sometimes I have a fear of receiving some negative feedback from my project. What helps me deal with that rejection is a strong belief that what I am doing is right.

Fear is a rotten feeling. I hate that feeling.
Yes, I suffer from fear. Mostly, lack of confidence. Right now, fear about a health condition – in the next few days I will have a couple of tests, and one of the tests itself is causing some anxiety. On the other hand, I would rather know what is going on.

I don’t really suffer from any of those, thanks be to God. My faith in God has caused me to be more or less fearless. Of course there are short periods of fear going into an unknown situation BUT I totally rely on God to see me through and that alleviates any fear I have

I love Joyce Meyer and her wisdom. I agree, we need to accept who God vlcreated us to be inspite of what others think or feel.
I think fear is a bigger fear than rejection, for me anyways. I worry about decisions occassionally and thats where the fear comes in.
