Changing Daily Routines and Lifestyle Choices
Time to make changes?
Welcome back to my blog for this second week of April. So I managed to get one post written last week – well, two, with one here and one on my other blog, where I wrote about the first Motivational Monday in April.
My goal this week: Write at least 3 posts, as I ease back into the blogging schedule.
Here is some encouragement for today:
“If it seems you have been struggling forever with negative things in your life, don’t despair. There is a time and season for everything, and bad things ultimately give way to better things. Even the good things going on in your life may not stay exactly the same, because things are always changing.
Sometimes changes are exciting…and sometimes they are difficult. But Jesus never changes–and as long as you keep your eyes on Him, you will make it through the changes in your life and continue growing.
Be careful not to get too attached to people, places, positions, or things, but always be free to move with the Spirit. Let go of what lies behind and press on to what lies ahead (see Philippians 3:13-14).
Reach toward the new horizon God has for you. You will be glad you did.”
–Joyce Meyer in “Ending Your Day Right”
My Reflections
Yeah, changes can be challenging. These first few months of 2019 have been challenging, dealing with sickness in February, and then a couple new health diagnoses in March that have required making some significant changes in my lifestyle. I have had to change my diet to lower sugar, carbohydrate, and sodium intake, and get more consistent exercise to lose weight.
So far, so good over the past few weeks. I have lost a few pounds by changing my diet and exercising daily. I am also feeling a bit healthier and more energetic. I am also standing most of the day with my “stand up” desk! My hubby added a shelf over the top of my treadmill, so I have my laptop there to do my work, blogging, and other online tasks.
So what are YOUR thoughts?
How do you deal with changes?
Have you made any recent changes to your overall lifestyle?

Congrats on making changes to your diet and losing a few pounds! I am curious about stand up desks because I definitely sit too much while working from home.

One lifestyle change I have made is making it a priority to get out of the house more with my daughter. We’ve started going to story time at the library and swimming lessons. It’s good for her to socialize and I’m able to meet other moms in our community.

Change can be hard, but also exciting and good. Just take it one day at a time!
I have made some changes lately after recommendations made by my doctor. After two months I haven’t seen any changes and that’s frustrating. Glad you are seeing better results.
Congrats on making changes! Sounds like you are already having successes! It is so difficult to make changes. I try to include positive rewards for small changes. It helps me stay motivated, and focus on the successes.
The first one hit me. Balance is really a simple term but very complicated to achieve.
Good luck on getting those three blog posts done! <3 I love the idea of having a shelf over your treadmill. So clever!
My focus is always on high productivity. Monotony doesn’t work for me. So, I keep experimenting with different routines and systems.
I’m trying to make changes too! It’s so hard when you’re used to another routine and also not feeling well.

I am a lover of rules and routine and change is not easy for me. But we must embrace changes and learn from it.
Congrats on making your decision to for change. Change is good it keeps you motivated and be creative!
I don’t have concrete strategy on dealing changes but I think the best advice or thing I do when changes come my way is that you have to face and acknowledge it because running away from it won’t do you any good. Have a healthy life, people!
Momentum with small sustainable changes is really the key to success! I always try to tackle too much at once and feel overwhelmed. Baby steps is what I really need.
Kudos on committing to making changes. It’s not easy but worth the effort. Change is good for us all, from time to time, so we don’t stagnate.
