Turning Negatives Into Positives – Is It Possible?

Turning Negatives Into Positives – Is It Possible?

From Negative to Positive?

[**NOTE** I first shared this post back in March, but with all the worldwide events taking place – from wild weather events, to political unrest, to wars and conflicts and atrocities… it seemed appropriate to share it again!]

This has to be one of the more difficult situations in life to manage: Experiencing a negative situation or a host of negative circumstances, and holding onto the belief there will some how be positive outcomes … by the grace and intervention of God!

Here’s today’s inspiration to ponder…

Lord, I praise You that the things that happened in my past, both enjoyable and painful, are raw materials for blessings, both in my life and in the lives of others. And thank You for the things in my past that appear to be limitations, hindrances, bad breaks…the wounds of old hurts, the unmet emotional needs, the mistakes or neglect of other people–even their cruelty to me, their abuse.

How comforting to know that in all my distresses You were distressed. And how I thank You, Lord Jesus, that on the cross, You bore my griefs and carried my sorrows, as well as my sins…And how comforting to know that in the present, day by day, You feel with me any pain, confusion, inner bondage, or struggles that stem from my past.

I’m so grateful that all my past circumstances were permitted by You to make me see my need of You and prepare my heart for Your Word…to draw me to Yourself, and to work out Your good purposes for my life.”

 My Reflections

I have found as difficult as it is to accept that negative aspects of life can have positive outcomes, they some how do, in most cases.

And it is really comforting to know that God genuinely cares and is actively working in our lives to fulfill His purposes.

So What Are YOUR Thoughts?

Do you agree that even the negative events in our lives can potentially have positive outcomes?

Have you experienced (or are you now experiencing) a situation like this, waiting for something negative to become a positive outcome?

  1. I know for a fact that one cannot allow the negative situation to go unaddressed. I also know that I cannot do this on my own. So I reach for help outside of myself. I also know that to not address negatives can make your life a prison. My last blog post dealt with a somewhat similar issue
