Transformation Into New Beginnings

New Beginnings

I always like the opportunity for “new beginnings” – and as spring begins next week (on the calendar at least), it’s a good time to ponder the significance of the transformation that takes place in the spring! Especially for those of us who endure long, cold winters and FEET of snow (we still have a couple feet of snow, “thanks” to this past week’s blizzard!) – spring is a welcome season, with the fresh new life it brings. Spring is also a symbolic time of transformation, as we can reflect on changes we should make in ourselves and do some mental/emotional spring cleaning to accompany the actual spring cleaning we may be planning to do!

Now onto today’s inspiration …

“Lord, thank You that in my deepest and truest identity, I am a new person in union with Christ…I am one of Your spiritual masterpieces, created clean and clear as a flawless jewel…and You are cutting and polishing me to receive and display more fully the beauty of Your glorious attributes.”

–Ruth Myers in “31 Days of Praise”

My Reflections

It amazes me when I read similar devotional messages in devotional books written in different years–and in this case, written by different authors–but they have similar messages (see yesterday’s post about Trading Beauty for Ashes). To me, that’s like someone waving a flag and yelling, “PAY ATTENTION!!” So again, on the theme of transformation…we know it’s a process for a crude gemstone to become a polished, flawless jewel. I wonder why we sometimes think it should be any less of a process for us to be transformed into God’s image?

So What Are YOUR Thoughts?

Do you look forward to the transformation process?

Or do you back away, unsure if you want to go through the process?

  1. Thank you so much for your daily inspiration K Lee! Loved this post! Spring is around the corner and what better way then to start fresh and into a new beginning 🙂

  2. I love spring. It’s my favorite season. It’s so miraculous to watch life slowly emerge from a monochromatic world. I love seeing everything becoming green and bright.
I loved this post. It reminded me that there is no reason to fear change. The transformation process in humans can be as amazing and as awesome as it is in caterpillars that become butterflies.
