They Say Balance Is the Key to Life – But Is It Achievable?
I have heard it said many times that balance is the key to life.
But it doesn’t seem so easy to achieve at times!
Balance is key – but how do we achieve it? With so many responsibilities and demands pulling us in every direction, it can often seem like an insurmountable task to balance everything. Kind of like juggling too many items in the air – something is bound to come crashing down! Sometimes what crashes is our health – physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, or all of them together!
So obviously, we need to learn HOW to achieve balance in our lives. Here’s one suggestion.
“It takes discipline to balance your life.
Examine your life today, and do what is needed to bring balance to the way you use your time.
If you have been asking God to lead you in the way you should go, you will have a sense of purpose building in you.
You can ask God to help you plan your day, your week, and your life.
I encourage you to write down the things that God imprints on your heart to do. Writing the vision, and placing it where you can routinely see it, will help settle the plan God puts inside of you.
Life without purpose is vanity. Today is an opportunity to willfully and deliberately seek God with the intent to know Him better than we knew Him yesterday.
Today we can deliberately move forward with the intent to accomplish good things for the kingdom.”
–Joyce Meyer in “Starting the Day Right”
My Reflections
Balance, planning, and purpose…relevant areas of my life under development right now. Especially since beginning my full-time remote position last March, I have found it increasingly difficult to achieve that balance among all the things I need to do and those things I want to do. When things are off balance, I find myself getting frustrated and even depressed at times.
However, I am determined to continue to pull down strongholds, overcome hurdles, and achieve a greater level of productivity and victorious living that aligns with the purpose in my life. I think my new year’s goal and focus phrase of “Declutter and Simplify” will help achieve that balance I desire to have in my life.
So what are YOUR thoughts?
Is your life balanced or off balance right now?
Do you have a plan to achieve balance, and to discover or fulfill your purpose in life?

With freedom comes big responsibility. As far as balance is concerned, it depends on the time of day, week, month, year, etc.

a little off-balance is what i might say – but i think exercise and sleep and more time with loved ones will make it all right
I think that not only achieve a balance is important, but also that is possible to reach it!with lot of patience of course…

Something that should be so easy, can be so hard finding the right balance takes time to make sure you have it just right
It’s very true the balance is key. Without it i dont know what I’d do day to day.it is possible to reach a level of balance it just takes time.
You’re right — balance is SO difficult to achieve! I kind of wonder if we should be seeking instead for overall balance instead of daily balance. So certain days will be entirely devoted to family or work, but overall throughout the week or month a balance is achieved. That’s the only way I can seem to manage.

My life feels a little off balanced, which is definitely something I’m working on as I head into the new year.
My life is definitely off balance at the moment but I am working on it. I need to schedule my day a little better and then I probably would not feel this way.
A new day, fresh start, fresh energy…I love that message. I’ve been guilty of holding onto things from the previous day, but I need to keep in mind that every day is a new opportunity to start over.

I think balance is very hard to achieve simply because we put so many expectations to the definition of “balance”. I think as long we take it easy on ourselves and the world, the balance can be closer than we think 🙂

My life with 5 kids definitely feels off balanced at times, which is definitely something I intend to work on in 2019.
How right! While we all want to have that balanced life, it really is not easy to achieve that since it takes a ton of discipline. I’d anyone can be disciplined, then they are good to go!

Balance is definitely the key. It can be tricky to strike a good balance but it is very achievable. Great information here.

That’s a very beautiful and motivating post. I agree balance in life is very important and sometimes it’s difficult to balance things in life.
I’m so glad I read this post. I feel like I struggle greatly with trying to find balance. If my personal life is thriving my work life is struggling. Decluttering and simplifying is a goal that I am also trying to achieve this year. I don’t plan to be a minimalist but I know it’s overwhelming to have so many unnecessary things in your life.
