Sunday, June 21 – Happy Father’s Day and First Day of Summer!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there – and to the moms who are filling the dad role for a variety of reasons! This is my 13th Father’s Day without my beloved Dad who passed away in 2002 and it’s still a difficult holiday for my siblings and me.

In Loving Memory of My Dad.

Also, Happy First Day of Summer! How’s the weather in your part of the world? Here it was kind of chilly (60s) and raining most of the day, so no cook-out!

Anyway, 20 days later…I’m back!!! I had to take some real time off from typing so my thumb could significantly heal and reduce the swelling I had all through the base of my thumb and my wrist. Now, about 5 1/2 weeks post-surgery, I’m doing better.

Now with the sutures out, a smaller brace, and doing exercises daily, I can actually carefully use my right hand to type for brief periods of time.Ā  Still can’t use my right thumb, though, so I had to retrain myself to use my left thumb for the space bar.

So this is my “getting back into blogging” post, with plans to resume my regular blogging schedule and format tomorrow (6/22). For those who aren’t familiar or who may have forgotten, that means daily scripture and devotional shares, with occasional special posts.

Hope to “see” you back here as we swing into summer!

How have you been this month? How was your Father’s Day?

  5. Our Father’s Day was awesome! From soccer, to biking, grilled salmon burgers, and extracting a loose tooth by tying it to the end of an arrow and doing some target practice. It was fun!
