Special Announcement: Birth of My Third Granddaughter!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: I am thrilled and so thankful to make this announcement: My third granddaughter was born yesterday, December 15th, at 8:30am and weighed in at 8 lbs. 4 oz., and measured 21.5 inches long. And of course, she’s adorable!

Lillianna Grace!

This excerpt, from Karl Moore’s 18 Rules of Happiness on being  grateful, is especially relevant!

Think of all the wonderful things you have to be grateful for right now. It could be your family. Or your health. Maybe your home. Your friends. Your brain. Your heart. Your spirit.

We’ve all got amazing things in our own lives that make us smile with joy. And if we can count these blessings every day, we’ll discover a greater appreciation of the beautiful world we surround ourselves with.” –Karl Moore

If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life

is thank you,

it will be enough.”

Meister Eckhardt

My reflections:

I have noticed a difference in my overall attitude toward life ever since I began my nearly daily posting of an “Attitude of Gratitude” on Facebook in November 2013 or so. It definitely helps to focus on the positive by counting your blessings!

And I am blessed to have this beautiful new granddaughter, an early Christmas present to her family (my youngest daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters) and all of us who love and care for her and her parents and sisters!

                  Happy new family of 5!

So what are YOUR thoughts?

Do you find it easy or difficult to practice an attitude of gratitude?

Do you count your blessings on a regular basis?

  1. Congratulations on another granddaughter!!!
I think it is easy to practice attitude of gratitude. My problem is telling the world about it. I normally keep it to myself. Occasionally I post about it on Facebook.

I do count my blessings. I try to count my blessing as I thank God in my prayers for them.

  2. What a lovely baby.
I do try to count my blessings and I thank God for them.
Sometimes I don’t succeed and then I feel bad that the blessings that I had hoped for never came to be.

  3. Congratulations on your newest family addition! I try to count blessings, or at least express gratitude, as my first act upon waking. Just being given the privilege of waking up is something I am grateful for.
