Rules of Happiness Overview – July 31 Inspiration

at

Happy July 31st! We’ve arrived at the end of July – can you believe it? So we did it – completed the rest of July with posts introducing Karl Moore’s 18 Rules of Happiness.  Remember, again, I’ve only shared small excerpts – his book (available in digital form at Amazon for only 99 cents!) has longer detailed entries for each “rule.” No affiliate links here, remember – just a good book I thought was worth sharing! I hope you think so, too! 🙂

So here they all are – links to each rule, in case you missed any or would like to review them:

Rule #1: Stop Feeling Sorry for Yourself

Rule #2: Be Grateful

Rule #3: Say Yes More

Rule # 4: Follow Your Bliss

Rule #5: Learn to Let Go

Rule #6: Do Random Acts of Kindness

Rule #7: Enjoy Happiness NOW

Rule #8: Invest in Experiences NOT Hoarding Possessions

Rule #9: Appreciate BOTH Sides of the Coin

Rule #10: Be More Social

Rule #11: Love More

Rule #12: Pursue a Dream

Rule #13: Set Direction with Intention

Rule #14: Enjoy Simple Pleasures

Rule #15: Accept What Is

Rule #16: Exercise and Eat Well

Rule #17: Zoom Out and Don’ t Sweat It!

Rule #18– Laugh, Dance, Smile!

My reflections:

I enjoyed the focus on happiness, and the means to achieve happiness, in this series.

I don’t know if I can choose just one out of the 18 as my favorite. I think the two most relevant in my life right now are rules 12 (“Pursue a Dream”) and 13 (“Set Direction with Intention”).

Part of Rule 12 , “Pursue a Dream,” said, “Dreams are the spark plugs of the spirit. Make sure yours are ready for action.

Part of Rule 13, “Set Direction with Intention,” said to, “Decide on where you’re going and how it’ll be for you – and it’ll happen.”

So what are YOUR thoughts?

Did you enjoy the 18 Rules of Happiness?

Do you have a favorite one or two or more out of the 18 rules?

Good tips, some easier to follow than others. 🙂 I’ve been working on #5 today–Learn to let go. My 11-year-old-going-on-17 has been giving me a preview of the teen years the past few days!
