Don’t You Quit!
I am so thankful, by the grace of God, that I held onto my faith in God and His divine inspiration to NOT quit my doctoral journey over the 7 1/2 years it took to cross that finish line!
I felt like it so many times, but now I’m on the other side of the finish line, with a sense of relief and satisfaction–and a bit of shock–that I really completed that journey last year on 6/26/2017!
In order to relaunch my blogging efforts, and not quit completely, I’ve been reviewing and recycling older posts, and again came across one that is so timely even several years after I first wrote it!
This post reminds me of a poem entitled, “Don’t You Quit!”
The first stanza goes like this:
“When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
when the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
when the funds are low and the debts are high,
and you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
when care is pressing you down a bit–
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.”
Here’s your inspiration for today!
“No matter how bad the condition of your life or your circumstances, don’t give up! Regain the territory the devil has stolen from you. If necessary, regain it one inch at at a time, always leaning on God’s grace and not on your own ability to get the desired results.
Don’t be a quitter! Don’t have that old ‘give up’ spirit.
Whatever you may be facing or experiencing right now in your life, I am encouraging you to go through it and not give up!
It’s easy to quit–it takes faith to go through with something.”
–Joyce Meyer in “New Day New You”
I know a few people -including myself- who need to hear this regarding difficult or challenging circumstances that really do make you want to quit out of sheer frustration or discouragement! Yet we can’t allow ourselves to be defeated and not achieve our goals. Often the breakthrough is just around the bend!
So What Are YOUR Thoughts?
Are you going through difficulties right now that make you want to give up? (I will certainly pray for you, because I empathize!)
Have you ever experienced a breakthrough at just the right moment, and been surprised how close you came to missing it?
