Pursuing Power by Prioritizing Prayer

Pursuing Power by Prioritizing Prayer

Want to feel empowered?

Prioritize prayer

and watch God work!

Imagine going through an entire day without speaking to your significant other or another loved one in your life. Maybe you don’t have to imagine it, if there is an unpleasant situation occurring and neither of you are speaking to one another. This just engenders hurt feelings and drains your energy, and certainly damages the relationship. Yet when you make amends with one another, you usually feel energized again and certainly more content in your relationship.

Father God likewise longs for daily communication. He grieves when we grieve, and rejoices when we rejoice. He cares about both the big AND little things happening in our lives. He wants to share in our daily lives and to give us the power we need to face each day. All we have to do is prioritize prayer– that daily communication with Him!

Here is your Sunday inspiration to ponder…

“If you and I are going to succeed at being ourselves and succeed in life, then we must know how to pray and be willing to give prayer a place of priority in our daily lives.

It is not our own righteousness that we wear into our prayer closet; it is the righteousness of Jesus Christ…He took our sins on the cross with Him and gave us His righteousness (see 2 Corinthians 5:21).

Pray: ‘Lord, I thank You that because of the cross, I can come into Your presence and pray. I come confidently knowing that I have the righteousness of Jesus. Amen.'”

Joyce Meyer in “The Confident Woman Devotional”

My Reflections

I have had my lapses in daily prayer, and I always feel like something is missing. The day just doesn’t go quite right or as smoothly as the days I start off with prayer.

It’s like this x-stitch piece I have hanging on the wall (originally stitched for my Mom’s birthday in 1991!) that says, “If your day is hemmed with prayer, it is less likely to unravel.” I really believe God, the source of all power and strength, empowers us when we pray!

So What Are YOUR Thoughts?

Do you agree that daily prayer is necessary to get through each day?

Do you feel more empowered when you prioritize prayer time in your life?

  1. Hi Karen,

I just did a little praying today. My promo period for my Men and Love Series started on Monday and then today, Wednesday I realized the affiliate links were not working. After lots of struggle and upset, I finally just let go, prayed and went to my health club to cool down. When I returned I got an email from the tech company and they will help me resolve the problem. I already figured out one piece. When it seems as if nothing is working, we have to let go and trust GOD. The solution always comes.
