Perseverance: That Extra Push to Succeed. Sometimes that’s just what we need. It’s true, you know. Be honest. Most of us know exactly what we should do, as opposed to what we want to do … but when obstacles get in our way, they can sometimes seem insurmountable.
The idea of achieving the goals we set may seem impossible when the “giants” rise up – accidents, health issues, financial woes, family or relationship problems – these and so many other hurdles can thwart our attempts to move forward, or at least around them, as we seek an alternate route.
Watch this and see what you can learn from … a BABY!!
This baby had a goal: climb up on that couch. She faced obstacles, momentarily became distracted, confronted her “mountain” again, then accomplished her goal. Did you notice her utter joy upon attaining that achievement? Can you relate?
Your additional inspiration for this Sunday…
The difference between perseverance and obstinacy
is that one comes from a strong will,
and the other from a strong won’t.
~Henry Ward Beecher
and you will find that
the limits of your stubbornness
go well beyond
the stubbornness of your limits.
Our greatest glory is not in never failing,
but in rising up every time we fail.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Never think that God’s delays are God’s denials.
Hold on; hold fast; hold out. Patience is genius.
These thoughts really speak to me regarding some current life circumstances. I especially like this one: “The difference between perseverance and obstinacy is that one comes from a strong will, and the other from a strong won’t.”
So what are YOUR thoughts?
Do you find it easy to persevere so you can achieve your goals?
Isn’t it interesting what we can learn about persistence and perseverance from watching the baby in that video?
