It seems God’s timing is rarely what we would prefer, yet He knows our needs and certainly has our best interest at heart. Sometimes it’s difficult to see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel when we’re so focused on the darkness surrounding us.
Here are Thursday’s devotional thoughts…
“Honestly, now, did God save you so you would fret?
Would He teach you to walk just to watch you fall?
Would He be nailed to the cross for your sins and then disregard your prayers?
Come on!
Is Scripture teasing us when it reads, ‘He has put His angels in charge of you to watch over you wherever you go’ (Psalm 91:11)?
I don’t think so either.
He places Himself between you and the need. And at the right time, He gives you the ticket.
This is the same promise God gave the children of Israel. He promised to supply them with manna each day. But He told them to collect one day’s supply at a time. Those who disobeyed and collected enough for two days found themselves with rotten manna.
God gave them what they needed, in their time of need.
God will do the right thing at the right time. What a difference that makes!
Father, thank You for being ever present in my life. Forgive me for worrying. Thank You for reminding me how much You care for me and my problems.”

My reflections:
This is yet another relevant and thought-provoking devotional for me right now. It seems like our timing–when WE want things to happen–is just not usually within God’s plan and HIS timing. Yet He can see what we can’t and He knows what’s best for us on HIS schedule, not ours.

So what are YOUR thoughts?
Do you ever feel like God is late in meeting your needs? Have you come through to the other side of an issue and been able to identify why something didn’t happen when you thought it should have?

28 Jan 2016This is true about timing! I’ve been reminded of this several times in just the last few weeks! Prayers answered and needs fulfilled in his plan for our lives, not ours. Thank you for this post. ?

28 Jan 2016I read this passage about timing James 1. At times I think things don’t come fast enough and other time to slow.
During the day I learn something. Today I was so happy that I got done with medical transit people in timely fashion. I got with someone on the other end who had there act together.
