No Joke on April 1st – Back to Blogging!
It’s April 1, 2019, and NO, this is not a joke… I am really attempting to get back into blogging!
Eyes on the prize.ย That is what I’ve been telling myself since 2019 began, as my schedule became very busy with higher priorities, and I had to re-evaluate what needed to take precedence. Even though I enjoy blogging, and would like to make it more of a business than a hobby, at this time, it still is more of the latter.
Some key events of the past three months since I last blogged:
January: We celebrated a belated Christmas (a tradition now) with my youngest daughter, son-in-law, and three of my granddaughters. While it is now tradition to do this in January, this was the first time in a long time that they all came HERE to our house, instead of us doing the traveling. That made it all the more special!
My Mom would have been 90 on the 17th, had she not passed away in 2011. It was a sentimental day of reflection.
February: Both my hubby and I were quite sick with the flu – for me, it was for most of the month! ๐
But on the positive side, February was also the month of hubby’s birthday, our 13th anniversary, and of course, Valentine’s Day.
March: Finally started on the road to recovery…while also dealing with some new health challenges as revealed in my annual exam and related blood work results.
Celebrated my one-year anniversary with my full-time remote job on the 21st.
My Dad would have been 86 on the 17th, had he not passed away in 2002. As with my Mom’s birthday, this was likewise a sentimental day of reflection.
Also celebrated my 61st birthdayย on the 29th!
April: So now April is here.
My primary task is maintaining my health through some new healthy lifestyle choices, while also keeping up with my full-time remote position.
But I do plan to get back to blogging here, as well, so I can reach my goal of more consistent blogging, even though I’ve missed most of the first quarter of 2019- already!
I also want to do more sewing and quilting, as that serves as my “therapy” when I need a break from everything else!
But to help jumpstart things here, I am recycling a few posts from months and years in the past. So now I will move forward with my eyes on the prize and the rewards of meeting goals and seeing my dreams come to fruition in many areas of my life!
Here’s your April 1st inspiration…
“We all have times in life when we feel like giving up…
God gave many men and women in the Bible difficult tasks to perform, but He always promised a reward.
Looking to the reward helps us to endure the difficulty.
I encourage you not to look merely at your work, but look also at the promise of reward.
Take time to enjoy the fruit of your labor, and be energized to finish your course.
It will also build confidence as you realize that you are worth enjoying the reward of your labors, and it is indeed God’s will for you.”
–Joyce Meyer in “The Confident Woman Devotional”
My Reflections
I am so thankful that God, and those people He has placed in my life to be encouragers and supporters, have helped me to NOT give up on my various dreams! I will continue to keep my eyes on the prize and rewards that await me as I achieve goals and attain success.
So what are YOUR thoughts?
Do you find it easy to keep your eyes on the prize ahead of you?
Are you still pursuing your dreams?

Sometimes when things get hard, it can be tough to keep going! Keeping the eye on the prize — yes, that’s the best encouragement for us to keep going, guided by His light. Have a wonderful April as you keep moving toward the dreams God has planted in your heart.
Yes, I thank God for everything too. Yes, do not lose hope on anything. Give it all to God and everything will follow.
Welcome back!
Welcome back to blogging! I enjoyed that devotional you shared, I think in the hustle we often forget to appreciate and take pride in our hard work and the road ahead.

At least you’re picking it back up and are getting back into your blogging. So many people wouldn’t do that!
It can be so hard to get back into blogging once you take a step back. I am currently trying to get back into it properly too.

Welcome back! A few months ago, I took a bit of a break from blogging as well. Taking a break from time to time helps me focus and come up with more content.
Now and then when things get hard, it very well may be difficult to continue onward! Watching out for the prize โ truly, that is the best consolation for us to continue onward, guided by His light. Have a superb April as you continue pushing toward the fantasies God has planted in your heart. Besides, we ought to never lose hope.
Good to have you back. Wishing you a lot of blogging fun. Always good to pursue goals.
