Moving from Feeling Unlovable to Accepting God Loves You Unconditionally

Move Away from Feeling Unlovable…

to Accepting God Loves You Unconditionally!

So many things can make us feel unlovable, from other people’s words and actions against us — to our own self-critic — you know, that little annoying nudge that makes us call ourselves names when we do something wrong! Others may place conditions on their love toward us — and we may even place conditions on ourselves — but we need to move away from those feelings of being unlovable and accept that God truly does love us unconditionally!

Here is today’s inspirational thought…

“There is only one thing you can do with a free gift, and that is receive it and be grateful. I urge you to take a step of faith right now and say out loud, ‘God loves me unconditionally, and I receive His love!’

When you feel unlovable, it is hard to get it through your head and down into your heart that God loves you perfectly–even though you are not perfect and never will be as long as you are on the earth. To know that you are loved by someone you can trust is the best and most comforting feeling in the world.

God will not only love you that way, but He will also provide other people who will truly love you. When He does provide, be sure to remain thankful for those people.

Having people who genuinely love you is one of the most precious gifts in the world.

GOD loves you! God LOVES you! God loves YOU!

Believe it and receive it!”

–Joyce Meyer in “The Confident Women Devotional”

My Reflections

I have experienced this at different moments throughout my life, when I truly felt unlovable (and it hasn’t helped to have critical people in the past TELL me that!)  But the whole idea of learning to RECEIVE God’s unconditional love is freeing…even though it also means overcoming the tendency to listen to those critical voices of the past!

So What Are Your Thoughts?

Have you ever struggled with feeling unlovable?

And then struggled to just receive love from God and from others who truly do love you and care about you?

  1. Oh yes, I have struggled with feeling completely unlovable. I wondered if people could stand looking at me because I felt that I was so ugly. It is what bullies told me, and I believed them. I learned that God does not create junk and, since God made me, I could not possibly be ugly. I may have bad hair days, but I am not ugly. God makes all people to be beautiful and it is up to us humans to see the beauty in all people. I feel that, by seeing how God loves others, we can see how God loves us, too.
