I’m continuing my efforts to “catch up” my DAILY devotional thoughts –these are belatedly for March 4th. My theme was to “March forth on March fourth” –but it didn’t quite work!
“There is only one thing you can do with a free gift, and that is receive it and be grateful. I urge you to take a step of faith right now and say out loud, ‘God loves me unconditionally, and I receive His love!’
When you feel unlovable, it is hard to get it through your head and down into your heart that God loves you perfectly–even though you are not perfect and never will be as long as you are on the earth. To know that you are loved by someone you can trust is the best and most comforting feeling in the world.
God will not only love you that way, but He will also provide other people who will truly love you. When He does provide, be sure to remain thankful for those people.
Having people who genuinely love you is one of the most precious gifts in the world.
GOD loves you! God LOVES you! God loves YOU!
Believe it and receive it!”
–Joyce Meyer in “The Confident Women Devotional”
“God arranged life in 24-hour periods; we sleep for awhile, and then wake up refreshed to start all over again. God intended every morning to be a brand new start, a fresh opportunity. We can go to bed feeling hopeless and worn out, thinking, ‘I just don’t believe I can go on.’ But some how, a good night’s rest renews us, and we wake up with faith again, thinking, ‘Maybe today my breakthrough will come, and I will get an answer; I can make it one more day.’
So thank God for mornings!”
–Joyce Meyer in “Starting Your Day Right”
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is Your faithfulness.” –Lamentations 3:22-23
-1- I have experienced this at different moments throughout my life, when I truly felt unlovable (and it hasn’t helped to have critical people in the past TELL me that!) But the whole idea of learning to RECEIVE God’s unconditional love is freeing…even though it also means overcoming the tendency to listen to those critical voices of the past!
-2- Definitely still need to work on getting more sleep so I feel refreshed in the morning! Anticipating much needed breakthroughs is also a good plan!
What are your thoughts? Have you ever struggled with feeling unlovable, and then struggled to just receive love from God and from others who truly do love you and care about you?
Do you get adequate sleep and feel refreshed in the morning? Do you find a good night’s sleep positively affects your overall attitude and sense of victory each morning?
