March 19 Devotional Thoughts
Happy Thursday, last day of winter -well, on the calendar, at least! It still looks like winter here in Maine, USA! Still snow on the ground, and the awful weather report said we can expect another ARCTIC cold front to move in this weekend!
Onto warmer thoughts with today’s devotions! Remember to check out Daily Scripture Readings, if you would like to read some Psalms and Proverbs for the day.
“Are you tired of playing games, wearing masks, and trying to be someone other than who you are? Wouldn’t you like the freedom just to be accepted as you are, without pressure to be someone you really don’t know how to be? Would you like to learn how to succeed at being yourself?
God wants you to accept yourself, to like who you are, and to learn to deal with your weaknesses. Everyone has weaknesses, but God doesn’t want you to reject yourself because of them. If you base your value on your weaknesses, you will underestimate your value. Your worth is not based on anything you do, but on what God has already done.”
–Joyce Meyer in “Ending Your Day Right”
“If God is asking you to step out into something that is uncomfortable for you, I can assure you that when you take the step of faith, you will find Him walking right beside you. When you want to do something, don’t let yourself think about all the things that could go wrong. Be positive and think about the exciting things that can happen.
Your attitude makes all the difference in your life. Have a positive, aggressive, take-action attitude, and you will enjoy your life more. Taking action may be difficult at first, but will be worth it in the end.
Pray: Lord, I rest in the knowledge that where You guide, You also provide. My one desire is to walk with You and to always be at Your side. Amen.”
–Joyce Meyer in “The Confident Woman Devotional”
-1- Wow, this is so hard sometimes, when so many people have expectations of who you should be and what you should or shouldn’t be doing with your life. It’s good to know our value lies in who we are –and WHOSE we are –rather than in what we do.
-2- Ahh, the whole “stepping out of your comfort zone” issue! Stepping out, trusting God, maintaining a positive attitude, and believing change is a beginning not an ending…sounds like a plan!!
So what are YOUR thoughts? Are you ready to give up the battle of being the person everyone else expects you to be, and just be yourself instead?
Are you ready to step our of your comfort zone with a good attitude, to pursue your destiny and potential based on your true worth?
