If You’re Going to Talk the Talk – Then Walk the Walk

Talk the Talk

Walk the Walk!

This is one of those lessons of life I remember my Dad teaching.  And not only did he TEACH it –he also LIVED it! Dad always emphasized the importance of not just talking like a Christian, but also walking the dedicated life of a Christian, to be an example of Father God. Dad did that very well. He talked the talk AND walked the walk!

Here’s your Saturday inspiration…

“Many times, believers with Christian bumper stickers on their cars are seen driving around like crazy people, yelling at their kids, throwing their hands in the air, and looking mad at the world.

If there isn’t any peace in our hearts when we leave home, our bumper stickers are not going to impress anybody.

We need to get ourselves straightened out before we go out.”

–Joyce Meyer in “Starting Your Day Right”

My Reflections

Yes, yes, I have seen these people, whether they have Christian bumper stickers, wear Christian jewelry, or boast about being Christians…yet their behavior would indicate otherwise!

Worse, I think I have been that person who sometimes looks sad, depressed, or “mad at the world” — and that’s certainly NOT a good look for a believer in God! 🙁

So What Are YOUR Thoughts?

Have you noticed people with Christian bumper stickers on their cars, who then behave anything BUT Christ-like?

Do you recall times you have been less than cheerful when you have been out among other people?

  1. These are such great tips! I love all the inspiration and quotes you have here.

  2. Ah, yes, it is the conversation of many of the people I know about how very UN-Christian some church goers seem to be. I agree that it really is necessary to walk the walk too. It’s like saying you’re an animal lover then causing suffering to an animal, not good in my books.

    Enjoy the journey!
