Happy Valentine’s Day – YOU Are Valuable and Loved by God

at

On this Valentine’s Day, I want to remind YOU, yes, YOU, reading this post -that you are valuable, loved by God and others, and have a purpose to fulfill on this earth. On a day that is a celebration of love for some, and a day others sometimes dread or suffer through, it seemed like a good idea to re-share this post on love, personal value, and self-worth.

Now onto this Valentine’s Day inspirational thoughts…

-1-

“Self-rejection and self-hatred can almost seem pious, in a sense. They can become a way of punishing yourself for your mistakes, failures, and inabilities. People cannot be perfect, so they sometimes reject and despise themselves.

Do you lack appreciation for your own worth and value? You may not feel treasured or even acceptable, but you are…otherwise your heavenly Father would not have paid such a heavy price for your redemption.”

–Joyce Meyer in “Ending Your Day Right”

-2-

“God loved us first, and we loved Him back. He reaffirms us concerning His love; and we start loving others, and eventually, the love becomes so intertwined in us that it no longer matters who was first to love the other.

The book of Ephesians explains this lesson of love by saying that we are to be useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted, compassionate, and understanding with the other.

**It is sometimes painful to work at relationships; but it is more painful to reap failure, dissension, and separation from those we love because we have simply neglected them and sown bad seed.**

Once we invite Jesus into our relationships and do what He says to do, we become like Him in our thoughts and deeds; and consequently, we become loving like He is and we develop and maintain good relationships.”

–Joyce Meyer in “New Day New You”

My Reflections

-1- Yes, there are days, especially recently, when I do not feel valuable, treasured, or acceptable…but I know I can’t depend on my feelings to reveal the truth of the matter at times like these.

-2- Yes, working at relationships–that’s the key. Compassion, forgiveness, and moving forward.

So What Are YOUR Thoughts?

Do you struggle with not feeling valuable or acceptable – to yourself or to others? How do you deal with those feelings?

Do you find it easy or painful to work at relationships?

These are terrific reminders about love and not being alone. I cherish my relationships with people and with God. I strive for a willing heart to see my role in the relationships and what I can do to improve them. https://sherikayehoff.com/the-amazing-effect-of-love-on-life-biz-and-happiness/

I love this post. I wake up every morning and give myself a pep talk to remind me that I am important. I also strongly believe in loving myself for others to love me.

How sad it is that Valentine’s Day makes many people feel lonely, unloved, and unvalued, just so certain industries can make a pile of money. Why isn’t there a “You Have Worth” day?
