Gratitude Challenge – November 14 – Thankful for Strength to Face Problems, Not Run From Them

at

Here at Words of Encouragement

**NOVEMBER MEANS: GRATITUDE CHALLENGE!!**

I am thankful for God’s strength to face problems, and not run from them!

You have probably heard the expression, “You can run, but you can’t hide.”  Have you ever thought about how that especially applies to trying to run and hide from our problems, or from what we KNOW we should be doing, instead of facing them and finding solutions?

Here’s today’s inspiration / admonition…

“Remember that God wants us to face things.

Whatever you run from

will always be waiting for you somewhere else.

Our strength to conquer

is found in pressing forward with God.

Whatever you’re facing,

God is facing it *with* you.

Pray: ‘Lord, help me take my eyes

off my circumstances

and place them on You.

Whatever You want for my life,

I can do it

because of Your presence with me. Amen.'”

–Joyce Meyer in “The Confident Woman Devotional”

My reflections:

I think this is a powerful one. It’s usually not easy to face our problems, yet we only set ourselves up for MORE problems and disappointments when we refuse to face and deal with our problems.

I imagine it like a nightmare, when you’re always trying to get away from something or someone – but you never can, and you end up always looking over your shoulder. You can never let your guard down or relax, because that “thing” is always there. It would be better to turn around and face the problem or the fear, to take authority over it, and finally gain the victory.

So what are YOUR thoughts?

Do you have any problems or difficult situations chasing you down as you run from them?

Have you thought about turning around, facing them, and finding solutions?

Karen, great post, you are right the more we focus on the solution, and deal with a problem the easier our lives become, not always easy at a times 🙂

Great post. I believe in facing problems head on…. after you have had some time to reflect and be still in your heart and mind for abit.Breathe. You will come back with a refreshed mind and ready to find those solutions.
