Encourage Yourself by Reflecting on Past Victories – March 7 Inspiration
Encourage yourself by reflecting on past victories. Sounds like a plan! It doesn’t do us any good to dwell on our problems. We need to find solutions and then move on. Counting our blessings and past victories, though, will always be an encouraging, uplifting experience and set us up for future success.
Here is your Monday inspiration…
“When you feel yourself starting to lose courage,
talk to yourself!
Tell yourself that you made it through
difficulties in the past
and you will make it again.
Remind yourself of past victories.
Make a list of your blessings
and read them out loud
anytime you feel yourself
starting to sink emotionally.
Pray: Lord, I thank You for the victories
You have led me through in the past.
I know that You will lead me in victory today,
and I can overcome. Amen.”
–Joyce Meyer in “The Confident Woman Devotional”
~~*~~
My reflections:
I can fully relate to this – I talk to myself all the time! Especially in times exactly as the devotional expresses, as a pep talkΒ and to encourage myself as I reflect on all God’s blessings.
~~*~~
So what are YOUR thoughts?
Are you able to refocus and encourage yourself by reflecting on the blessings in your life?
When you think about it, do you agree you have more blessings than problems in your life?

I’ve written in the past about the fact I have something called a success box. When I’m struggling. When I’m starting something new and I don’t know if it will work or not π I stop and I revisit this box and I remind myself the best predictor of future success are my past successes.

A great reminder to focus on all that’s right with the world (and our lives) vs. what may be lacking. I spend time before I fall asleep each night giving thanks for the blessings in my life and the highlights of that day; it’s a positive way to end the day and set the tone for the next one!
That’s so true, sometimes we are so focussed on the fails or the future, we forget to remember and celebrate past victories.

Yes! I remind myself regularly of all the progress that has happened. ESPECIALLY when I’m working toward a big goal.
This is the simple reminders in life that we need to look over and over again. Inspiring ourself with the success and victories we surpassed makes us a whole new us again.

It sound a little weird, but talking to yourself is the best pep talk one could have. When all else fails and I’m about to lose it, I stop and talk to myself about all the good things that I have or have happened during the day. It helps a lot, definitely!
Great reminder. When I’m struggling with something, focusing on succeeds in the past gives me a second wind and I’m able to refocus and accomplish what I was struggling with.
I try to look in the mirror every morning it’s my way of giving myself a pep talk before going out into the negative world. This help me to think positive.

Yes, I do. I just look at my kids and smile.
This is so inspiring and wise. Glad you shared this!
This made me think of the phrase I’ve done it before I can do it again. First thing I thought of with that phrase was getting through childbirth for the second time in July 2015.
This sounds like a great way to stay positive. Definitely, if I think about it there is many more blessings than problems in my life π
Thanks for sharing such great reminders! I love this one “Count your smiles instead of your tears. Count your courage instead of your fears. β So true. A bad day can turn into a good day with just one smile π

I agree with you here. Being grateful is a nice remedy to outcome struggles in life, be satisfied in what we have and eventually every problem you face does not matter.
I absolutely love this. It’s inspiring and it is absolutely what every single woman needs to remember.

I’m all about looking at blessings, instead of problems, but sometimes it is a challenge when the problems are all up in your face and at forefront of your mind! Great reminder!
I always try to encourage myself on victories. Sometimes I forget to include past victories.
