Discovering Your Destiny – March 12 Inspiration

Discovering your destiny. Sometimes it’s obvious, other times it’s not so clear. One thing we should remember is that our past does NOT need to determine our future. By the grace of God, we can overcome any negative results of our past, learn the lessons to apply today, and have a brighter future as we fulfill our potential and our destiny.

Here is your belated inspiration for Saturday; I spent most ofย  the day offline doing other things, so today you will get two posts, one for Saturday and one for Sunday!

“If you are doing nothing with your life

because you are not sure what to do,

then I recommend that you pray

and begin trying some things.

It won’t take long before you will

feel comfortable with something.

It will be a perfect fit for you.

Think of it this way:

When you go out to buy a new outfit,

you probably try on several things

until you find what fits right, is comfortable,

and looks good on you.

Why not try the same thing with discovering your destiny?

You cannot drive a parked car. Get your life out of ‘park,’

and get moving in some direction.

As we take steps of faith, our destinies unfold.

A confident woman is not afraid to make mistakes,

and if she does, she recovers and presses on.”

–Joyce Meyer in “The Confident Woman Devotional”

My reflections:

I think this is great advice to not allow present circumstances, or doubt or fear, to prevent us from moving forward to understand what our destiny is and to fulfill it. I especially like the analogy that we can’t drive a parked car, so in order to discover what we need to do to fulfill our destiny, we have to go from ‘park’ to ‘drive’ and move forward!

So what are YOUR thoughts?

Do you feel like your present circumstances are holding you captive to your past?

Can you move your life from ‘park’ and ‘drive’ forward to fulfill your destiny?

  6. One of the important lessons imparted to me by my parents is to learn from a mistake, but live the following day like it’s brand new. I have to admit that at times I struggle with this, but for the most part I do try to move on, forgiving myself for a mistake, learning from it, and striving to do better.
