Content for Now, Yet Yearning for What’s Ahead

Content for Now…

Excited for What’s Ahead!

I find as I’m I’m fast approaching the next decade of my life (60 next March!), I am content where God has placed me … yet I also eagerly anticipate what blessings lie ahead. There’s a difference between settling for a mediocre life and not striving to improve– and being content, resting in God, and trusting Him to fulfill or complete all the things that concern me according to His plan for my life (see Psalm 138:8 –“The Lord will perfect [complete] that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands.” ).

So onto the inspirational thought for this Saturday. Remember to check out Daily Scripture Readings, if you would like to read some Psalms and Proverbs for the day.

“Lord, thank You that You have me in the place You want me just now…even if I got here through wrong choices or indifference or even rebellion, yet You knew my mistakes and sins before I ever existed, and You worked them into Your plan to draw me to Yourself, to mold and bless me, and to bless others through me.

Thank You that even if I’m here through the ill will or poor judgment of other people, all is well; for in Your sovereign wisdom, You are at work to bring about good results from all those past decisions, those past events beyond my control–good results both for me and for others.

So I rest in the fact that You have me in this place for this day, and I praise You that You will faithfully guide me throughout life to just where You want me to be, as I seek do Your will.”

My Reflections

This is something I often ponder and it still amazes me how many things God has brought me through, to bring me where I am today. When we’re going THROUGH those things, it’s hard to comprehend WHY, or to even see that proverbial light at the end of the tunnel…yet even if someone keeps moving the end of the tunnel, we do eventually walk out into the light on the other side.

So What Are YOUR Thoughts?

Have you had those times when everything around you looked dark and murky, yet you some how made it through to the light on the other side?

Are you content where you are now, but looking forward to the future with confidence?

  1. This couldn’t have come at a better time. I struggle with being content yet wanting to make soooo many changes at once. I’m always going back and forth, but I pray about it and know God has us right where we need to be at this moment. I love looking forward to the future and seeing what the next amazing blessing is going to be. You have really blessed me with this post! Thank you!
