Confidence vs Negativity – March 8 Inspiration

Confidence vs. negativity.  The two don’t mix. You just can’t maintain confidence if you harbor negativity. If you focus on being positive instead, you can increase your confidence. Then in turn, you might find you’re more content to be who you are meant to be and fulfill your potential.

Here’s your Tuesday inspiration…

“A confident woman is positive.

Confidence and negativity do not go together.

They are like oil and water; they simply do not mix.

Being positive or negative is a choice–

it is a way of thinking, speaking, and acting.

Either one comes from a habit that has been formed

in our lives through repetitious behavior.

Expect good things from God today–

He won’t let you down.”

–Joyce Meyer in “The Confident Woman Devotional”

My reflections:

It’s interesting how repetitious behavior can form either good or bad habits–positive or negative mindsets.  And either way, it’s our choice which mindset we allow to be dominant in our lives.

So what are YOUR thoughts?

Have you thought about the connection between confidence and positivity, and how negativity can adversely affect your confidence?

Are you generally a positive person or does negativity often get you down?

  2. I come and visit your blog often and read the positive content you are always putting out. Thank you.

  3. I do think negativity affects one’s confidence. I try to teach my kids to think positive. Both my boys do. Not my girl. She is very negative. I’m working on her thou.

  4. Agree with you. Both cannot gel and go together. Keeping a positive mind in the storm can work out in miracle and bring good things when you least expect them.

  5. I was reading an advice column this morning. The question submitted was from a man with such a negative attitude that everything was going wrong. The columnist had such a positive way of phrasing his advice, to teach him how to pull himself out of the negative behavior. Once that changed, positive things would happen. I was already thinking about how I tend more to negative thinking. It does affect my confidence. I admit it.

I am not saying that avoiding negativity is not worthwhile and helps you get on your way, but its not universal (nor am I sure it’s in the majority).
