Competence, Capacity, and Confidence

Do You Have

Competence, Capacity, and Confidence?

It’s the 3 Cs and they’re important to have so we can develop our full potential. Checking with one of the online dictionaries, we can confirm that competence is “the ability to do something successfully or efficiently.

Capacity, in this context here, is “the ability or power to do, experience, or understand something.

And confidence, of course, is “the state of feeling certain about the truth of somethinganda feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities.”

Here’s your Monday inspiration…

Lord, I praise You that Christ is not a weak person outside me, but a tremendous power inside me….through Him I am competent to cope with life, to do Your will, to love with Your love, to be more than a conqueror.

How I rejoice that I can grow, develop my gifts, enlarge my capacities…I need not be forever shackled by my past, but that with confidence and joy, I can look forward to actually becoming all that You have in mind for me to be.”

My Reflections

So this is the solution for the problem: instead of comparing myself and feeling like I’m falling short, I should just be thankful for and continue to develop the gifts God has given me. I need to trust Him to continue to develop my competence, capacity, and confidence as I move forward into the blessings awaiting me in life!

So What Are YOUR Thoughts?

Do you ever feel like you’re still entrapped by your past?

Is your past keeping you from realizing your full potential ?

Are you able to easily demonstrate competence, capacity, and confidence?

  1. Yes, yes, yes to all of the above. I often feel as if my failures in the past are indicators of my future. The one area in which I don’t feel that way is in my artwork. I don’t see my bad paintings as anything but a step to learning more and to growing as an artist. I need to have that attitude in other areas of my life.
