Bold Prayers and Abundance – October 19 Devotions
Here we are, beginning the last two full weeks of October. Doesn’t seem possible, does it? The weather has changed substantially, at least here in Maine, with heavy frost and temperatures dipping into the 20s at night. The positive side of this change in weather is that I can wear my favorite sweaters, sweatshirts, and flannel pants or leggings!
Do you believe in the power of prayer? I’ve experienced the results of others praying for me, and seen the results of my prayers for others.
Consider today’s devotional thought on prayer…
“Some people are unable to pray boldly
because their consciences bother them.
There are things they need to repent of
and commitments they need to make to do things differently.
If that is the case with you, then just do it.
If something is wrong in your life,
don’t spend the rest of your days feeling bad about it…
do something about it!
Ephesians 3:20 tells us that God is able to do
exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond
all that we ever dare to help, ask, or think.
Are you daring in prayer?
Are you expecting enough?
Satan is afraid of bold, daring, confident, fearless,
and expectant prayer.
Pray: Lord, I am challenged to rise up and be more daring in prayer.
I truly believe that You are able to do abundantly more
than I have ever dared to ask or think. Amen.”
–Joyce Meyer in “The Confident Woman Devotional”
I can always use this reminder to be consistent and faithful in praying, and believing that God hears and answers prayers. Even more, to pray boldly and believe for those superabundant “above all I can ask or think” kind of answers!
So what are YOUR thoughts?
Is bold prayer part of your life? Have you seen answers to prayer that encourage you and your faith?
