Believe vs. Achieve – March 6 Inspiration

To believe or to achieve. We obviously need to accomplish tasks in our life in order to meet goals and fulfill our potential. But if our whole focus is on achieving tasks totally on our own, with no belief in God or any higher power greater than our selves, we will just wear ourselves out in utter frustration. Instead, we should exercise faith and believe in the power indwelling us to lead us to a much less stressful and more fulfilling life.

Here’s your Sunday inspiration…

“Trying to make things happen on your own

without God’s help is foolish

and often causes feelings of frustration and condemnation.

It makes no sense for you to try to do

what only God can do.

God wants you to realize it is impossible

for you to change yourself–

only He can do that through the marvelous wonder

of His grace, which is a free gift

to everyone who will receive it.

If you have been struggling to achieve good results

on your own, it’s time to make a change.

God wants you to struggle less and believe more.

Accept the free gift of God’s grace and allow Him

to change your life into the peaceful, abundant life

He has planned for you.”

–Joyce Meyer in “Ending Your Day Right”

My reflections:

This one reminds me of another quote I’ve read about how if we do what we can do, God will do what we can NOT do.  Another one says to depend on God’s grace to do what He has called us to do. So as we depend on Him, we’re  never alone struggling through life on our own efforts.

So what are YOUR thoughts?

Do you  try to do everything on your own?

Have you had times in your life when you choose to trust in God and ask for His help to reach your potential?

  1. An inspiring quote today, Karen! A good reminder we aren’t doing everything by ourselves.
