Attitude of Gratitude – February 21 Inspiration

at

Attitude of Gratitude. An important quality to have and practice to engage in on a regular basis. I started posting my “Attitude of Gratitude” thoughts, usually daily on Facebook, over 3 years ago. It’s amazing how focusing on the positive on a daily basis helps turn around even a difficult day.

Here is your Sunday inspiration…

“We all need to develop an ‘attitude of gratitude.’

This doesn’t mean we should live pretending

nothing negative exists.

It simply means we make it our goal in life

to be as positive as possible.

A positive approach opens the door

for God to work.

Go to bed tonight pondering everything

you have to be thankful for.

Do the same first thing tomorrow morning…

Don’t become discouraged with yourself

when you fall short, and don’t quit.

Keep at it until you have developed new habits.”

–Joyce Meyer in “Ending Your Day Right”

My reflections:

It was actually my youngest daughter who inspired me to start the “Attitude of Gratitude” practice when she first did this in November 2012 before Thanksgiving. Now it has become an established habit.

Another motivation was a quote I read around the same time that asked the thought-provoking question, What if the only things left in your life today, are the things you thanked God for yesterday?

So what are YOUR thoughts?

Do you find it easy to have an attitude of gratitude?

Have you ever consistently expressed thankfulness or gratitude for all you presently have in your life?

I will absolutely have to agree that the more grateful you are for what you already have, you’ll get more to be grateful for.

An attitude of appreciation and positivity really helps you stay happy.

I feel like when you tend to forget to say please or thank you or fail to show concern for others to have an appreciation of gratitude would be very difficult.

I often think the word gratitiude is so overused and just used as a codicil in conversation sometimes. I think the work “appreciation” shows more feeling and empathy
